The Alta Vista Ranch has produced award-winning, published photography.

Our ranch hosts all levels from expert wildlife cinematographers to entry-level photographers.

In addition to our in-field hunting blinds that are available for photography/videography usage, our 74-acre compound includes five strategically-positioned photo blinds. Each structure was built to ensure comfortability and discretion during long and short sits. We regularly service our blinds to provide the best possible chances for wildlife encounters. Previous photo hunts on the Alta Vista have captured bobcats, owls, badgers, quail, raptors, coyotes, hundreds of species of migratory birds, herptiles, insects, deer, and more South Texas wildlife.

Aside from wildlife, visitors can also capture historic structures on our ranch including ruins from the 1800’s, cowboy camps, barns, and the Casa Mayor which is 130 years old. We are located in a designated Dark Sky Zone — a great place to capture the magnificent Texas sky and practice astrophotography.
